RUSSIAN DELEGATION VISITED NDRF HQ, NEW DELHI

Today, a Russian delegation led by Mr. Vladimir Puickkov, Minister for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters, visited National Disaster Response Force (NDRF ) HQ, New Delhi to discuss the mutual support for Emergency and disaster response.

The government of India and Government of Russian Federation had signed the agreement for cooperation in the field of Emergency Management during the 11th Indo-Russian Annual summit held on 21st December 2010 in New Delhi. The main areas and forms of co-operation are: exchange of information, early warning, assessment of risk, joint conference, seminars, workshops, training of specialist, mutual assistance in providing technical facilities and equipment, mutual assistance in enhancing early warning systems and capacity building of both States in Emergency preparedness, prevention and response, planning and carrying out the activities related to emergency preparedness, prevention and response etc.

Visited delegation was given an overview on NDRF and its activities by Sh. O P Singh, Director General, NDRF.
