RESCUE OPERATION BY NDRF

Flood rescue and relief operation by National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) across the country is continuing. NDRF has mobilized all its resources to assist the flood victims who got marooned due to flash flood. Despite all Odds, NDRF is relentlessly engaged to relocate the flood affected victims to safer places with full zeal and enthusiasm.
Gujarat:- 19 NDRF teams are deployed for rescue and relief work. In addition, 03 more teams have been moved from NDRF base Bhatinda. Yesterday, NDRF teams carried out rescue operation at flood prone areas of Banaskatha, Patan, Ahmadabad and Aravalli and evacuated 1177 persons. NDRF teams evacuated 917 persons at Banaskatha, 174 persons at Patan, 69 persons at Ahmedabad and 17 persons at Aravalli. NDRF team operational at Ahmedabad also evacuated 08 livestock. NDRF teams also assisted in relief work and distributed 3000 food packets and 6000 water bottle at Banaskatha and 1000 food packets at Patan among flood affected victims.
Rajasthan:- 04 flood and rescue teams of NDRF are deployed in flood affected areas of State. Yesterday, NDRF team operational at Sirohi evacuated 26 persons and distributed 600 food packetsto flood victims. NDRF team operational at Rajasmand evacuated 03 persons and 06 livestock.
West Bengal:- 08 NDRF teams are deployed at Siliguri, Rajarhat, Howrah, Ghattal, Jalpauguri and Hooghly for prompt response to flood disaster. In addition, 03 teams are positioned at Kolkata. Yesterday, NDRF team carried out operation at Hooghly, evacuated 51 marooned persons who got stuck due to flood and further shifted them to safer places.
Maharashtra: Yesterday, one NDRF team carried out rescue operation at Village- Mojepimpri, Tehsil- Mulsi, Pune, Maharashtra in connection with drowning of 02 persons into waterfall and retrieved 01 dead body, so far. The search of another missing is still in progress.
NDRF HQ, New Delhi is monitoring the situation closely and is in touch with other agencies and stakeholders.
