RESCUE OPERATION BY NDRF

Yesterday, a low pressure over the Bay of Bengal intensified into a depression and raised the expectation of more rainfall followed by downpour in several places of Odisha. On requisition of local administration, 02 NDRF teams were deployed at Vill-Majhiguda & Thiruwali, Rayagada, Odisha to respond to any untoward situation due to depression. NDRF teams assisted local administration in distribution of relief material (900 Dry Food Packets and 500 Water Pouches) to needy persons, etc.

Today, one NDRF team moved to Rampur, Khaneri, District-Shimla, Himachal Pradesh where a bus carrying 35 persons skidded off the road and rolled down into a 150 feet deep gorge.

Besides, joint search operation by NDRF and Navy at Jamnagar, Gujarat is continuing where 03 persons got missing in River Ruparali while crossing a bridge. One male body has been recovered by rescue agencies, so far. The search for 02 more victims is still in progress.

Yesterday, One NDRF team conducted rescue operation at Vill- Wardade Distt- Pune Maharashtra in connection with drowning of 01 person in a Nalah and retrieved the body of victim.

NDRF has pre-positioned its 47 teams at vulnerable locations across the country to meet any eventuality during this monsoon season.

DG NDRF is closely monitoring the situation and also in touch with state authority for further development of situation.
