RESCUE AND RELIEF OPERATIONS BY NDRF

Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief operations by NDRF is continue in flood hit districts of Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Gujarat
Maharashtra: As water level is receeding in most of the places and situation is improving, NDRF teams are now engaged in restoration work in flood hit areas of state. NDRF teams are actively engaged in clearing the roads and tracks with civil administration and also distributing relief materials in worst flood hit areas of Kolhapur & Sangli. Today NDRF teams engaged in rescue and evacuation work at village Palus, Sangli evacuated 108 persons to safer locations and also distributed relief material. In addition, NDRF with the help of Civil Doctors organised 03 medical camps, provided medical assistance to 350 sick and needy persons.
Karnataka: Today, NDRF team engaged in rescue work at Dakshin Kannada rescued 02 females and also distributed relief materials. Team operational at Bagalkot rescued 35 male and 12 cattles. A team engaged in search ops at Village Thoda, district Kodagu where a landslide occurred due to heavy rains, retrieved 02 dead bodies today. Teams are also engaged in rescue and relief work at Belagavi. Operation is still in progress.
Kerala: NDRF teams are engaged in search operation at landslide-hit area of Mallapuram and Wayanad. Teams retrieved 02 dead bodies today from Mallpuram landslide site. Total 15 dead bodies have been retrieved from Malapuram landslide site whereas 13 bodies retrieved from Wayand landslide site so far. The search for others is still on.

A 24x7, NDRF Control Room in New Delhi is functioning round the clock to keep the close vigil over the development of the situation and is in touch with other agencies & stakeholder.
