RESCUE AND RELIEF OPERATION BY NDRF

Dated 26/03/2018 Time: - 2100 Hrs.

On 26th March, 2018, a Boat capsized incident took place in Brahmaputra river near to NDRF Base IWT vessel, Uzan Bazaar ghat, Guwahati. The incident took place when 02 fisherman were engaged in fishing in a country made boat and started drowning as the boat they were on suddenly overturned in river Brahmaputra at approximately 700 mtr from NDRF camp. Alert Sentry of NDRF response base, uzanbazar ghat, guwahati observed the incident and immediately informed to the team comdr accordingly. On getting intimation, a sub team of NDRF comprising of 02 deep divers with deep diving sets, 02 boats and other flood rescue & life support eqpts immediately swung into action. The deep divers of NDRF demonstrated their flood Disaster Response skills and saved the two precious lives of drowning victim. NDRF teams also provides them pre hospital treatment. The victims were identified as Kabir age- 30 years and abdul ali, age- 32 years have been saved.

This is not the first time that alert responders of NDRF had saved the precious lives at IWT vessel.
