Rescue and Relief Operations By NDRF

60 flood and rescue teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) are pre-positioned in vulnerable locations across the country for prompt response to disasters. The teams are engaged in rescue and relief work.

West Bengal : 05 NDRF teams are deployed. Yesterday, NDRF teams carried at rescue operation at Distt- West Medinipur and evacuated 06 persons. Team also distributed relief material to needy persons.

Uttarakhand : 03 NDRF teams are on alert in the state of Uttarakhand to respond in any type of emergency situations. Yesterday, NDRF team deployed at Mirthi, Distt- Pithoragarh assisted 115 Pilgrims of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra to cross the area which got blocked due to landslide near village- Paldhar Distt- Pithoragarh .

Jharkhand : .02 teams are at Jharkhand. Yesterday, NDRF team deployed at Deoghar Jharkhand, conducted rescue operations and rescued 02 persons (Kanwariya) who got slipped into Shiv Ganga Pond while taking bath on the occasion of Srawani Mela.

Rajasthan : Yesterday, NDRF team operational at Jalore conducted rescue ops and evacuated 345 persons to safer places. Team also distributed 900 food packets.

NDRF HQ, New Delhi is monitoring the situation closely and is in touch with other agencies and stakeholders.
