RESCUE AND RELIEF OPERATION BY NDRF

Tripura: The “Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief” (HADR) operations, by NDRF in the flood affected areas of Tripura is still being continued. 10 teams of NDRF are relentlessly engaged in rescue and relief work with other agencies. NDRF responders are delivering their best to make access to the marooned people and further shifting them in Inflatable Rubber Boats to the safer places. Besides, NDRF teams are assisting to the state authority to distribute relief materials like food packets, drinking water in the flood affected areas.

On 15/07/2018, NDRF teams operational at Kailashahar division Distt. Unakoti in Tripura evacuated more than 1900 marooned people to safer places and distributed Water bottles, Rice, Dal, Muri etc. in flood affected areas. So far NDRF teams have evacuated more than 3400 people. Relief and rescue operation is still continues.

Assam: 10 flood rescue teams of NDRF are prepositioned for the monsoon in flood affected districts of Assam viz. Karimganj, Halakandi, Sonitpur, Bongaigaon, Guwahati, Silchar, Barpeta, Tinsukia, Dhemaji and Golaghat . Due to water logging in low lying areas of Distt. Karimganj and Halakandi, NDRF teams conducted rescue and relief operations and evacuated 235 persons to the safer places and also distributed relief material and medicines.

A 24X7, NDRF control room in Delhi is closely monitoring the situation and in touch with other agencies.
