RESCUE AND EVACUATION OPERATION BY NDRF

As a part of proactive measures, 40 self- contained flood rescue teams of NDRF have been pre-positioned in various flood prone areas of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Jammu & Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand and West Bengal to assist the respective state administration in rescue and relief work.
10 flood rescue teams of NDRF are pre-positioned in Assam. NDRF team deployed at Kokrajharevacuated 146 marooned persons. Team deployed at village- Jaragudi, district- Bongai Gaonevacuated 52 marooned persons to safer places.
In addition to rescue work, NDRF team deployed at Jorhat assisted state administration indistribution of relief materials (Rice-36 Qtls & 10 Kg, Dal-06 Qtls & 10 Kg, Salt-187Pkt ) to 422 flood affected families in areas of Vill-Kumargaon, Bakatgaon, Phukanbari, Kumaliya Supon, Koibartta Gaon, Changmai Gaon & Phukhori Pokoi and (Rice-100Kg, Dal-30Kg & Plastic Ploythene 20Mtrs) to 33 flood affected families at Kokrajhar .
09 flood rescue teams of NDRF are pre-positioned at various flood prone areas of West Bengal. Team deployed at Alipurdwar, West Bengal, carried out rescue ops at Municipality area, Alipurdwar and evacuated marooned persons to safer places.
06 flood rescue team of NDRF are pre-positioned in Bihar in connection with monsoon session. NDRF team evacuated 675 persons at Purnia, 175 at Supaul, 350 persons at Arraria and 70 at Kishanganj.
A 24X7, NDRF control room in Delhi is closely monitoring the situation and in touch with other agencies.
