RESCUE AND EVACUATION OPERATION BY NDRF
Dated 09th August,2016 Time 1830 Hrs
48 self-contained flood rescue teams of NDRF are prepositioned in various flood prone areas of the country to assist the respective state administration in rescue and relief work.
06 flood rescue teams of NDRF have been pre-positioned in flood affected district of Rajasthan where Incessant rainfall has caused flood-like situation and disrupted the normal life. 01 team each is operational at Bhilwara, Chittorgarh and Jhalawar districts. In addition 01 team has been mobilized to Pali and 02 teams to Chittorgarh district to assist the local Administration in rescue and relief work. NDRF team operational at Chittorgarh district evacuated 05 marooned personsfrom river Brahmni in Rawatbhata and 08 marooned persons from Bijolia tehsil, Distt-Bhilwara to safer place. Some additional teams are kept as standby at NDRF Base, Gandhinagar and shall be mobilised as per demand.
Yesterday, NDRF team deployed at Varanasi, U.P organised medical camp and distributed medicine to 165 persons.
Search operation by NDRF at Mahad, Maharashtra to trace the missing victims from the Savitri River is still continue. NDRF teams are putting their best efforts to trace out the victims. The teams have retrieved 04 dead bodies so far.
A 24X7, NDRF control room in New Delhi is closely monitoring the situation and in touch with other agencies.
