Rescue and Evacuation Operation By NDRF

Tripura: The recent torrential rain and breach embankment in Manu river, grimed the flood situations in several parts of Kailashahar division Unakoti district, Tripura. In a pre-empt action to tackle the situation, 02 Rescue teams of NDRF equipped with boats and other lifesaving equipment have been deployed in flood affected parts of Unakoti Districts of Tripura to assist the local administration in rescue and relief work. Today, NDRF team operational at Jolai, Fatikroy, Sinthal, Lakhiyapur villages of Kailashahar division evacuated 876 people and shifted them to safer places. So far, NDRF teams have evacuated 1035 people.

After analyze the severity of the Situation and to strengthen the rescue and relief operation in flood prone areas of Dist. Unakoti (Tripura) 06 teams are being airlifted from the NDRF Base, Ghaziabad (04), Kolkata (02) and 03 teams are en-route from Guwahati(Assam).

A 24X7, NDRF control room in Delhi is closely monitoring the situation and in touch with other agencies.
