QUICK RESPONSE OF NDRF TEAM SAVED 02 PERSONS LIVES IN NURPUR, KANGRA
Dated 16th June, Time: 1830 Hrs
Today, a commercial building collapsed at Jasur in Nurpur, Distt-Kangra, Himachal Pardesh at around 1630 hrs, in which 5-6 persons are trapped as reported.
On receipt of information from local administration, one Collapsed Structure Search and Rescue (CSSR) team of NDRF comprising of 42 rescuers immediately rushed to the spot from its Regional Response Centre (RRC), Nurpur, Himachal Pardesh at 1650 hrs. The CSSR team of NDRF consisting of trained responders and equipped with state-of-the-art CSSR equipment and tool started search and rescue operation taking due care and diligence as victims were trapped under the rubble.
Canine squad and technical squad were simultaneously used to locate the victims. At 1720 hrs, 02 trapped victim were located by rescue team under the rubles. Thereafter flooring of RCC slabs were cut open to make access to the victim. Due to prompt and effective response of NDRF, 02 victims named Mangloo dass and Chintamani Sahoo of Chhattisgarh were pulled out around 1730 hrs and 1750hrs. NDRF team used special equipment like chipping hammer, rotary rescue saw, spreader cutter, victim locating camera etc. He was given some oral hydrant and rushed to the hospital for further treatment. So far NDRF Team has recovered 01 dead body and 02 live victims, search and rescue operation is still in progress.
NDRF control room in Delhi is closely monitoring the situation and in close touch with other agencies.
