PROMPT RESPONSE OF NDRF AND FIRE FIGHTERS RESCUED 01 PERSON IN BENGALURU

A 25 year old person namely Saleem was rescued by National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and Fire Fighters in a Joint Operation from the rubble of a collapsed building near PS- Kaadgodi, Bengaluru on Sunday evening. Rescue personnel evacuated Saleem out of the rubble almost four hours after a cylinder blast brought down a portion of the building, today.
The incident took place on Sunday morning at about 1000 hrs in a building where person were trying to refill the small cylinder from LPG cylinder. During this process, some leakage took place which caused a fire and it resulted in an explosion. Four persons (03 of a family) and a worker namely Saleem were inside the building at the time of explosion. Fire Fighters and local administration managed to evacuate the family members. However, one labourer , namely Saleem was still trapped inside the building under a pillar.
Local administration sought the help of NDRF, immediately, one search rescue team of NDRF Immediately rushed to the spot from its Regional Response Centre (RRC) location Bengaluru. The incident spot was nearby to the NDRF base, NDRF team immediately swung into the action with other agencies.
As the victim was trapped under the debris, due care and diligence was taken into consideration to locate the victims alive. NDRF team with Fire Fighters located the victim, made access to the victim by cutting down the pillar with the help of latest equipment and rescued him alive. NDRF team also provided him pre-hospital treatment and further send him to hospital for advance medical treatment. The efforts of rescuers were highly appreciated by all concerned.
