Over Ten Thousand People Rescued By NDRF From Flood Afected Areas During this Monsoon Season

OVER TEN THOUSAND PEOPLE RESCUED BY NDRF FROM FLOOD AFFECTED AREAS DURING THIS MONSOON SEASON

The flood rescue and evacuation operation by NDRF is in full swing in various flood prone areas of country. The flood rescue teams of NDRF are engaged to evacuate the people from danger zones to the safer places. 44 self-contained flood rescue teams of NDRF have been pre-positioned to assist the respective state administration in rescue and relief work.

12 flood rescue teams are relentlessly engaged in relief and rescue work in Assam. Yesterday, NDRF teams organized mobile Medical camp at village- Bakachapi and Jamuguri under revenue circle Majuli, district- Jorhat and provided medical attention to 236 needy persons.

08 flood rescue teams of NDRF are deployed in Bihar. Yesterday, NDRF team operational at Gopalganj evacuated 320 stranded persons to safer places. In addition, medical camps were organized by medical component of NDRF team at various flood affected places of Gopalganj and distributed medicine and relief materials to 125 needy persons.

So far, over ten thousand persons have been evacuated by NDRF from the flooded parts across the country during this monsoon season. In addition to rescue work, teams also established medical camps at various areas of Assam and Bihar and provided medical attention to 1233 persons. The operation is still in progress.

A 24X7, NDRF control room in New Delhi is closely monitoring the situation and in touch with other agencies.
