OVER 9000 PERSONS EVACUATED BY NDRF IN BIHAR

The relief and evacuation operations by NDRF continues on the 5th consecutive day today. However, flood situation is improving but few areas of Patna districts viz. Rajendra Nagar, Kankarbagh, Hanuman Nagar and Vaishali Golambar are still submerged under 4-5 feet water. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has concentrated into restoration of normalcy and relief distribution in these affected areas. NDRF teams are helping district authorities in providing essential supplies like food, medicines, drinking water etc to the people through NDRF boats.
06 NDRF teams, equipped with 36 Inflatable Rubberized Boats (IRBs) and other flood rescue equipment are relentlessly engaged in worst affected areas of State capital Patna since 28th September 2019. NDRF teams are moving round the clock in waterlogged areas. They are doing their best to assist the state & local administration in restoration of normalcy as well as relief distribution.
During the last 05 days, NDRF teams carried out extensive evacuation with the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Home Guards and other Central & State agencies. Every effort has been made by NDRF rescuers to reach to every household and evacuate them to safer locations.
Since September, 28, NDRF teams have evacuated more than 9,000 affected people in Bihar. The operation continues in Bihar.
In addition, 02 medical teams of NDRF are providing medical assistance to needy people.
Director General, NDRF is personally monitoring the situation round the clock and is in close touch with the local administration. NDRF control rooms in Delhi and Patna are closely monitoring the situation.
