OVER 10,700 PERSONS RESCUED AND MORE THAN 52,700 PERSONS AND 300 LIVESTOCKS EVACUATED BY NDRF

The rescue, relief and evacuation operations by NDRF continued on Sunday in flood-affected areas of Kerala, Karnataka, Gujarat and Maharashtra. Despite all odds, NDRF rescuers are relentlessly commencing the rescue operations to evacuate the maximum people from flood hit areas.

173 teams of NDRF have been deployed across the country for rescue and relief work.

Maharashtra: 31 teams are deployed. NDRF teams have presently concentrated it's rescue and relief work in worst flood hit areas of Kolhapur & Sangli. They are ferrying the people as well as cattle to safer locations on NDRF boats.

So far NDRF has rescued 10,288 persons and evacuated 21,822 persons and 40 livestock's.

Karnataka: 20 teams are deployed. NDRF has deployed its maximum teams at Belagavi for rescue and relief work. Today, NDRF teams commenced non stop rescue and evacuation operation at flood hit areas of Belagavi districts and evacuated several people to safer places.

So far NDRF has evacuated 7582 persons and 63 livestock in Karnataka.

Kerala: Heavy rainfall and unprecedented increase in the water level of the rivers have resulted in floods like situations and triggered landslides in some places. NDRF teams are continuously engaged to assist the state administration in the evacuation of stranded people. Today, NDRF Teams carried out operations at Mallapuram, Idduki, Allapuzha, Wayanad, Pathanamthitta and Kozhikode districts and evacuated stranded persons to safer places.

So far, NDRF has rescued 196 persons and also evacuated 2664 persons to safer locations

A 24x7, NDRF Control Room in New Delhi is functioning round the clock to keep the close vigil over the development of the situation and is in touch with other agencies & stakeholder.
