NEPALESE DELEGATION VISTED NDRF HQ-2016

Nepalese Delegation Visited NDRF HQ

Today, a 15 member delegation from Nepal led by Mr. Prakash Kumar Suvedi, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nepal visited NDRF HQ, New Delhi in connection with 12th meeting of India-Nepal Bilateral Consultative Group (BCG) on security issues. The BCG facilitates both countries in three areas viz. supply of defence store, military training and information sharing. The aim of visit is to enhance mutual cooperation on disaster response and strengthen the response capabilities by sharing the experiences in the field of disaster management.

This is the first time that any Nepalese delegation visited NDRF HQ. Sh. O. P. Singh, Director General, NDRF welcomed the delegation and gave an insight of NDRF’s operation and its capabilities. DG, NDRF also shared his experience of disaster response and emphasised the need of mutual cooperation between two countries as both the countries are highly vulnerable to disaster and can help each other at the time of crisis.
