NDRF TEAMS HAVE EVACUATED/RESCUED MORE THAN 28950 PERSONS

Rescue operation by NDRF in the flood affected areas of Assam, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal are in full swing. NDRF flood rescue teams are relentlessly engaged in rescue and relief work with other agencies. NDRF rescuers are ferrying the people in Inflatable Rubber Boats (IRBs) to safer places and distributing the essential supplies like food packets, drinking water in affected areas.
Bihar:- NDRF flood rescue teams deployed at District Bettiah, Purnia, Araria, Kishanganj, Motihari, Supaul, Mujaffarpur, and Darbhanga of Bihar conducted rescue and relief operation and evacuated more than 5568 people to safer places. NDRF teams also distributed relief materials. So far NDRF teams have evacuated 7296 persons & 108 Livestock to the safer place and distributed-2600 Food pkts in Bihar.
Assam:- NDRF flood rescue teams deployed at Distt-Biswanath , Bongaigaon, Chirang, Kokrajhar, Morigaon, and Nagaon in Assam conducted rescue and relief operations and evacuated more than 3335 people to safer places. So far NDRF have evacuated 5184 persons, and distributed Dry Ration-10680 Kgs, Tarpaulin-250 Nos, Gur-710 Kgs, Salt-700Pkts, Plastic Sheet-200 Nos, Water Bottle/Pouches-200 Nos, Biscuits/Namkeen-300 Pkts and provided medical aid to 113 needy people in Assam.
Uttar Pradesh:- NDRF flood rescue teams deployed at Distt Sharavasti, Bahraich, Balrampur and Mahrajganj in Uttar Pradesh conducted rescue and relief operations and evacuated more than 1070 stranded persons to safer places. So far teams evacuated 2510 personsand distributed 6310 Foods Pkt, Dry Ration-600 Kgs and 60 Nos Tarpaulin and provided medical aid to 68 marooned peoples in Uttar Pradesh.
West Bengal:- NDRF flood rescue teams deployed at Distt- Jalpaiguri and Coobehar in West Bengal conducted rescue and relief operations and evacuated more than 770 people to safer places. So far teams have evacuated 2484 flood affected persons and distributed Food Pkts 1500 Nos, Water Bottles/Pouches 33614, Dry Rations 458 Bags, Baby Foods-244 Ctns, Milk- 1106 Pkts, Gur-2515 Kgs, Tarpoline-58 Nos, Vegetable 540 Kgs and medicines in West Bengal.
So far, NDRF teams have evacuated/rescued more than 28950 persons and provided medical assistance to 3529 needy persons in this monsoon season. Operations are still continuing.
A 24X7, NDRF control room in Delhi is closely monitoring the situation and in touch with other agencies.
