NDRF SAVED THREE LIVES IN SIKKIM LANDSLIDE

The heavy rainfall for last couple of days in parts of East Sikkim triggered a landslide at Pakyong. The landslide damaged some houses and trapped few inhabitants under the debris.
On the requisition of local administration, one Search and Rescue (SAR) team of NDRF stationed at Pakyong for emergency response rushed to the spot to assist the administration in search and rescue work. NDRF immediately started the rescue operation with the help of specialized gadgets and retrieved 03 lives under the collapsed structure. Due to prompt response of NDRF team, lives of Miss Dil Kumari, aged 34 years, Mr. Ashish, age-25 years and Mr. Penching Lepcha aged-24 years were saved. The NDRF team still engaged in search of other lives under the landslide debris.
NDRF control room is closely monitoring the situation and also in touch with state authority for further development of situation.
