NDRF SAVED A BOY FROM DROWNING IN VARANASI

Dated 12th May, 2017 Time: 1800 Hrs

Today, a 16 year old boy Mohit, while taking bath swept away in high flux of Ganga river at Dashaswamedha Ghat, Varanasi in U.P. The incident took place in wee hours when Mohit with his family was taking dip in River and started drowning. Alert NDRF rescuer Pramod Kumar pre-positioned for emergency response there, jumped in to the river and saved the victim by using rescue techniques. NDRF Medical team also provided medical care to the victim and further handed over to his family members.

It’s not first time that NDRF responders have saved lives at ghats of Ganga in Varanasi. NDRF responders also saved a lady from drowning from the same place, day before yesterday.

NDRF provides specialised response to disasters and disaster like situation have saved over half a million precious lives across the country.
