NDRF RESCUED 25 PERSONS IN ARUNACHAL PRADESH

The rescue and relief operations by NDRF in flood affected areas across the country continues. 42 flood rescue teams of NDRF are deployed in flood affected areas for prompt response to disasters or disaster like situations.

Arunachal Pradesh : Due to sudden increase of water in tributary of Lohit River, 25 villagers who were working at a river island (crop field) got stranded in a location known as Tezu, District- Lohit, Arunachal Pradesh. On intimation of local administration, one flood rescue team of NDRF comprising of 20 rescuers and equipped with flood rescue equipment immediately mobilized from NDRF base Namsai for rescue work. The NDRF team reached on the spot early in the morning . The operation was risky as flow of water in River was very high . NDRF rescuers made the access to the victims and rescued all marooned persons.

Assam : One NDRF team is operational at Village- Laimekuri, District Dhimaji, Assam where sudden increase in the water level in river Laali a tributary of Brahamputra waterlogged the low lying areas and marooned several people. Operation is in progress.

Tripura : Increases of water level in river Hoara created water logging at Sub Division Sadar (West Tripura) and stranded some persons. One NDRF team mobilized from Regional Response Centre, Agartala to assist in rescue operation. Operation is in progress.

Uttarakhand : 03 NDRF teams are deployed in vulnerable areas for prompt response to disaster. In view of IMD warning, NDRF teams are on alert for prompt response to any eventuality.

NDRF HQ, New Delhi is monitoring the situation closely and is in touch with other agencies and stakeholders.
