NDRF PRE-POSITIONED 38 FLOOD RESCUE TEAMS

38 Flood rescue teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have been prepositioned in various flood prone areas of the country for timely relief and rescue operation in the event of flood. NDRF teams are geared with latest disaster response gadgets and tools and assisting the respective state administration in rescue and relief work.
On 10th July, 2017, incessant rainfall and release of water by NEEPCO’s Ranganadi Hydro Electric Power Plant at Yazali in Arunachal Pradesh created flood like situation in District Lakhimpur, Assam.
NDRF teams stationed at Lakhimpur carried out rescue operation and evacuated approx. 600 trapped persons and they were further shifted to safer places. Besides, NDRF team pre-positioned at Distt- Biswanath evacuated 09 persons at Village –Dulia.
NDRF Control Room in Delhi is closely monitoring the situation and is in touch with State Administration and other Stakeholders for flood rescue operation.
