NDRF PERSONNEL AWARDED WITH POLICE MEDAL FOR MERITORIOUS SERVICE ON THE OCCASION OF INDEPENDENCE DAY 2024

On the occasion of India's 78th Independence Day 2024, the President is pleased to award "Police Medal for Meritorious Service" to the following Officers/personnel of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).

Sh. Abujam Bijoy Kumar Singh, Commandant joined BSF in 1994. The officer has successfully served in various capacities in extremely inhospitable and sensitive segments of International Border with Pakistan & Bangladesh, LC, ANO and IS duties in different parts of the Country. He joined the NDRF on deputation in 2021. In recognition of his hard work, dedication, 30 years of unblemished service, he has been awarded Police Medal for Meritorious Service.

Sh. Raj Kumar Sharma, Second-in-Command, SM (Gallantry) joined Assam Rifle in 1992, a distinguished officer, has served with unwavering commitment in the United Peace Keeping Mission in Haiti as part of MINUSTHA. He joined the NDRF on deputation in 2020. In recognition of his hard work, commitment beyond call of duty, dedication and 32 years of unblemished service, he has been awarded Police Medal for Meritorious Service.

Insp/RO Parkash Chand joined BSF in 1986. The subordinate officer has successfully served in various capacities in extremely inhospitable and sensitive segments of International Border with Pakistan & Bangladesh, LC, and IS duties in different parts of the Country. In recognition of his hard work, dedication and 38 years of unblemished service, he has been awarded Police Medal for Meritorious Service.

{{{The Police Medal for Meritorious Service is awarded to the personnel of police and security organization who have completed a minimum service of 18 years. The medal is awarded to personnel for their commendable work whether operational or administrative.
So far, 96 NDRF Officers/personnel have been awarded with Police Medal for Meritorious Service.
