A National Level Conference on Capacity Building of State Disaster Response Forces (SDRFs) is being organized by NDRF on 25th June 2018 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi to provide a platform for flagging the issues involved and to devise a way forward for making effort to tackle various issues pertains to SDRFs.

During the conference various agenda points like Status of SDRF in the State/UTs, Manpower, Training Status, Joint Operations of NDRF & SDRF, Availability of Equipment & Tools with the SDRF, Availability of Training Infrastructure with SDRF, Expectations from NDRF, Problem faced by SDRFs related to the training, Periodicity of Mock Drill conducted, Good Practices adopted by SDRF, Conduct of Community Awareness Programme/School Safety Programme and way forward shall be discussed.

The conference shall also provide an opportunity to the stakeholders (SDRF) to share their best practices, rectify the shortcoming and work to improve the response capabilities and to utilize this conference for planning, organizing and preparing for monsoon seasons.

It is worth mentioning that the NDRF is relentlessly engaged in the capacity building of SDRFs and also committed to strengthen the SDRF through its training programmes. The Force provides expert guidance to the SDRF for its strengthening/ modernization and organizes such conference annually.

The conference shall be attended by the representatives of different Ministries, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and other stack holders.
