NDRF EVACUATED 30 PERSONS IN AHMEDNAGAR, MAHARASHTRA

The heavy rains breached a check dam in Maharashtra’s Ahmednagar on Wednesday evening causing inundation at village- Arangaon. About 35 families were marooned in the village on Ahmednagar- Ghar Gaon road in Ahmednagar.

National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) was called to rescue the marooned people by local administration. On intimation, one flood rescue team of NDRF, equipped with flood rescue equipment and tools immediately rushed to village from NDRF base Pune, Maharashtra at 2145 hrs and reached the spot today at wee hrs. Due to severity of situation, NDRF team promptly swung into action even in the dark. However, darkness and incessant rain hampered the rescue operation. Despite all odd, NDRF team continued its rescue work and safely evacuated 30 persons.

The prompt response of NDRF once again saved the precious lives of countrymen and stood with its motto “Aapda Sewa Sadaiv”.
