Rescue and evacuation operations by NDRF in flood affected areas across the country are continuing where incessant rains lashed the low lying areas, affecting the normal life. NDRF teams are leaving no stone unturned to bring normalcy in flood affected areas.
In the Intervening night of 14-15 July, 2018, NDRF team deployed in Junagadh, Gujarat commenced rescue and evacuation operation at Vill- Khimpadar Distt. Junagarh where 06 Persons were stranded due to water logging following incessant rains. Due to prompt response of NDRF team all the stranded persons were safely evacuated to safer place.
Besides rescuing the human beings, NDRF team also rescuing livestock from the flooded areas. Yesterday, NDRF team evacuated 09 livestock at Tirunavaya, Distt Mallapuram (Kerala).
In addition, 01 team has been engaged in search of 07 persons who got missing when a boat carrying 40 persons got capsized at Polavaram Distt. East Godavari. However, 33 people have already been rescued by locals. The search operation is still in progress.
Over 100 self-contained NDRF teams have been pre-positioned/deployed at various flood-prone locations, keeping in view the flood vulnerability and to keep extra vigil at locations where rains and floods usually created the situation grim.
A 24X7, NDRF control room in Delhi is closely monitoring the situation and is in touch with other agencies to provide the prompt response in any type of emergency and further deployment.
