NDRF CELEBRATED 5TH INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY

National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) celebrated 5th International Day of Yoga across the country with the aim to generating awareness among the force personnel and make them stress free. On this occasion, NDRF organized a Yoga and Meditation Session at Delhi’s Nehru Park. Besides, all NDRF field formations & its Regional Response Centers (RRCs) organized yoga sessions at their respective battalion locations with the active participations of all NDRF personnel.
During the yoga session, NDRF personnel performed various yoga asanas. Besides, NDRF organized medical camps in New Delhi as well as at its field formations. Medical team of NDRF carried out free health checkup of visiting persons and also provided medicine to them.
Director General, NDRF, Sh. S.N. Pradhan, who himself has been a yoga practitioner for a long time participated in yoga session in New Delhi and briefed the benefits of yoga in life. He emphasizes on the role of yoga in empowering person physically, mentally and psychologically, which can help the NDRF personnel immensely in performing their operation.
DG, NDRF further said that, few minutes of yoga during the day can be a great help to get rid of stress. Practicing yoga improves balance, endurance, flexibility, and strength, while meditation helps keep the mind sharp, relieves stress and anxiety, and can strengthen immune system. It helps NDRF personnel to have a sound body and mind.
