Humanitarian assistance and flood relief operations by the NDRF in flood-affected areas of Bihar is continuing. 23 NDRF teams are deployed in low lying areas of Bihar to assist the local administration amid monsoon season.
NDRF teams are relentlessly engaged in evacuation operations in the worst-hit Saran and Darbhanga districts. Today, NDRF teams operational at Saran and Darbhanga evacuated more than 400 (four hundred) stranded persons through its Inflatable Rubber Boats (IRBs) to safer places.
So far, NDRF teams have rescued 71 victims & evacuated more than 11,000 persons in Bihar. In addition, teams also distributed 8550 food pkts & 6250 kg food items to the needy persons during the current monsoon season.
During the flood rescue operations, NDRF rescuers are strictly following the protective guidelines and protocols amid COVID-19 and using PPE, mask, face shield, sanitizer, handwash, and other protective gear.
A total of 133 NDRF teams have been deployed across the country to meet any eventually arises due to flood.
A 24X7, NDRF control room in Delhi is closely monitoring the situation and in touch with other agencies.
