INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY CELEBRATION BY NDRF

On the occasion of the International Yoga Day,Yoga was conducted by National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) at Nehru Park, New Delhi, today.During programme different kinds of Asanas and exercises were practiced by the NDRF personnel. Over 100 personnel including DG, NDRF, Sh. O. P. Singh, IPS, Senior Officers and NDRF Jawan participated in the programme. Yoga Day was also observed in the NDRF field formations across the nation.The personnel of Local Police, NGO, Home Guards and citizen of nearby places and its suburbs were also invited to participate in this unique event to learn the techniques of harnessing their energies and directing the same to achieve ones goal and lead a stress-free life.
A regular practice of Yoga improves the mental and physical health as well as brings improved flexibility, mental clarity and stress reduction which is important for the personnel of this humanitarian Force. Yoga, is not about exercise but about discovery of sense of oneness with ourselves, has regularly been practiced in NDRF.
NDRF is a specialised Force of the country which is engaged to respond to disaster across the nation. Close working with the masses over the years has made NDRF as efficient response unit capable to respond to all kind of disasters across the country or beyond national boundaries.
