FLOOD RESCUE OPERATION BY NDRF

Massive Rescue & Relief operations by National Disaster Response Force (NDRF)in various flood prone areas across the country is in full swing. Total 62 NDRF teams have been pre-positioned across the country to assist respective administration in rescue and relief work.

Assam:- One NDRF team is operational at Vill- BinaKandi Distt- Cachar, Assam where 03 persons got missing into a Nallah. The rescuers of NDRF are relentlessly engaged to trace the victims.
Bihar:- Yesterday, One NDRF team carried out operation at Distt- Muzaffarpur, Bihar in connection with drowning of 01 person in a pond. Team retrieved the body of victim.
Gujarat:- Total 18 teams are deployed. Out of these, 8 teams have been mobilized from NDRF Bn Pune, to augment the existing deployment in the state. Yesterday, NDRF teams carried out rescue operation at various flood prone areas of Gujarat and evacuated more than 800 persons at Banaskatha, Morbi, Rajkot, Amreli, Surendranagar and Patan districts. NDRF teams deployed at Banaskatha also shifted 20 Animals to safer places. NDRF is making all efforts to reach to the last man affected by floods.
D.Jharkhand:- Yesterday, One NDRF team deployed at Deoghar for Emergency response during Shrawani Mela rescued a girl childat Deoghar, Jharkhand. The incident took place when the child while taking the bath at Shiv Sagar Pond suddenly slipped and started drowning. Alert rescuers of NDRF present there, responded promptly and rescued the girl child.
Nagaland: Yesterday, One NDRF team carried out rescue operation at Vill- Doragajan East Dimapur, in connection with drowning of 01 person in Dhansari River and team retrieved the body of victim.
Rajasthan:-Total 05 teams are deployed. Out of these, 02 teams have been mobilized from NDRF Bn Ghaziabad, to augment the existing deployment in the state. Yesterday, NDRF teams pre-positioned at Distt- Pali and Sirohi conducted rescue operation in connection with flood like situation. NDRF team rescued 173 persons at Pali and 06 persons at Sirohi. Besides, NDRF team operational at Pali also distributed 1110food pkt to needy people in flood affected areas.

Uttarakhand: Yesterday, in an incident a person drowned into Tons River in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. One NDRF team present there immediately responded and saved a precious life.
Director General NDRF is monitoring the situation closely and in touch with other agencies and stakeholders for further development of situation.
