FLOOD RESCUE OPERATION BY NDRF

The heavy rains in Gujarat created flood like situation in several areas of Surendranagar and Rajkot Districts. Today, One NDRF team deployed at District Surendranagar, Gujarat carried out rescue operation at Teh- Limdi & Chotila and evacuated 05 persons at Limdi and 16 persons at Chotila. Besides, NDRF team deployed at Rajkot evacuated 06 persons. 15 persons were evacuated from Amreli.

One NDRF team is operational at Vill- Sarthar, Distt- Rajkot where 03 persons got trapped due to flood.

One NDRF team is operational at Vill- Leku, Distt- Dhemaji, Assam in connection with drowning of 01 persons in Leku River.

One NDRF team is operational at Vill- Jarwani, Distt- Narmada, Gujarat in connection with drowning of 01 person in Narmada dam.

NDRF teams are in touch with the state administration so that minimum time is taken to chalk out combat strategies in case flash floods or landslides occur, especially in hill states.

National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has pre-positioned its 49 flood rescue teams, in addition to 23 Regional Response Centers (RRCs) and 12 Battalion locations.

DG NDRF is monitoring the situation closely and in touch with other agencies and stakeholders for further development of situation.
