FLOOD RESCUE OPERATION BY NDRF

The heavy rainfall in parts of country created flood like situation and threw normal life out of gear. The flash flood resulted in untoward incidents like drowning in some places. NDRF teams which are pre-positioned in flood prone areas are relentlessly engaged to assist the administration in rescue and relief work.

One NDRF team is operational at Jamnagar, Gujarat in connection with missing of 03 persons in River Ruparali. The incident took place on Monday when the Car in which they were travelling, was washed away in River Ruparali due to flash flood while crossing a bridge. In a joint operation with Navy, rescue teams recovered one male body, yesterday. The search for other victims is still in progress.

One NDRF team conducted search and rescue operation atBathu Ki Ladi, Sub division Jawali, Distt-Kangra, HP in connection with drowning of a 25 year old male in Pong Dam and retrieved the body of victim, today.

One NDRF team is operational at Vill- Wardade Distt- Pune Maharashtra in connection with drowning of 01 person in Nalah.

47 Self-contained flood rescue teams of NDRF have been pre-positioned in flood prone areas across the country for prompt response to any disaster and disaster like situations.

DG NDRF is closely monitoring the situation and also in touch with state authority for further development of situation.
