FLOOD RESCUE OPERATION BY NDRF
Dated 13 July, 2017 Time 1630 Hrs
39 self-contained flood rescue teams of NDRF have been pre-positioned based on vulnerability profile across the country in various flood affected and flood prone places to meet the challenges due to flood like situations.
On 12/7/2017, NDRF team deployed at Majuli carried out rescue operations and evacuated 30 persons who got marooned due to flood and shifted them to a safer place. Besides, NDRF teams deployed at Deoghar, Jharkhand provided medical assistance to approx. 100 sick and needy persons
So far, NDRF has evacuated approx.1300 persons (Assam-619, Arunachal Pradesh-450,Tripura-217 and Sikkim-03) and provided medical assistance to 3234 (Assam-30,Jharkhand-150 and Uttar Pradesh-3054) sick and needy persons across the country.
DG, NDRF is monitoring the situation and touch with other agencies and stakeholders for further development of situation.
