FLOOD RESCUE OPERATIONS BY NDRF

Total 93 self-contained NDRF teams have been deployed at various parts of the country. Out of which 65 teams have been deployed in flood affected states viz. Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab, Jharkhand, J&K, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Bengal and are engaged in rescue and relief work.

Gujarat: 18 NDRF teams are deployed in Gujarat. NDRF teams are engaged in providing relief to the flood affected victims. Yesterday, NDRF team distributed 1750 bags of dry ration, 175 bags of cloths, 12 box medicine and other relief material at various flood affected areas of Patan, Gujarat. So far, NDRF has evacuated 8641 persons, 27 livestock and retrieved 11 dead bodies. In addition, teams distributed 68968- Food Packets, 81150-Water Bottles, 1750 bags of dry ration and other relief material to needy persons.

Rajasthan: 04 NDRF teams are deployed in Rajasthan. Yesterday, NDRF teams conducted rescue operation at District Jalore and evacuated 30 Person who got marooned and shifted them to safer places. NDRF team also distributed 600 food packetsto needy persons. So far, NDRF has evacuated 780 persons, 13 livestock and retrieved 02 dead bodies and distributed 4335 Food Packets to needy persons.

West Bengal : 11 NDRF teams are deployed in West Bengal. Yesterday, NDRF teams deployed at West Medinipur distributed 600 water packets, 80 Kg Sugar, 200 Kg- Rice and other relief materials to needy persons. So far, NDRF has evacuated 1267 persons and retrieved 05 dead bodies. In addition, teams distributed 20264- water bottle, 153 bags of dry ration and other relief material to needy persons.

NDRF HQ, New Delhi is monitoring the situation closely and in touch with other agencies and stakeholders.
