FLOOD RESCUE OPERATION BY NDRF

Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Maharashtra states are facing flood situation. Total 176 self-contained NDRF teams are deployed across the country to tackle any emergency.

In view of the current situation 25 NDRF teams are deployed in Gujarat out of which 05 teams have been airlifted from Odisha base to Surat airport to be deployed in the Gujarat. Besides, 17 teams in Maharashtra, 10 teams in Andhra Pradesh and 13 NDRF teams including 04 teams airlifted from Bhatinda (Punjab) are deployed in Telangana for rescue and relief work after consultation with state administration.

In recent flood, NDRF has rescued about 700 victims and evacuated more than 2500 stuck people from far flung areas to safer places. Rescuers of the teams are putting best efforts to provide immediate assistance to the needy in flood rescue operations. Rescue & relief operations are still in progress.

The Force is constantly tracking the Metrological Department (IMD’s) weather forecast and Centre Water Commission (CWC’s) report and acting accordingly. The NDRF commanders at the field are in touch with respective state authorities to render all possible assistance.

DG NDRF, Shri Atul Karwal is personally monitoring operations. A 24X7, NDRF control room in Delhi is also functioning round the clock to keep a watch over the situation.
