FLOOD RESCUE AND RELIEF OPERATION BY NDRF

More than 100 teams of NDRF are deployed in the worst flood affected areas across the country for rescue and relief operation. The NDRF teams are relentlessly engaged in rescue and relief work with other agencies and also assisting local administration in distributing of relief materials to the needy persons.

GUJARAT: Over 7000 persons and 27 livestock have been evacuated by NDRF in Gujarat. Besides, NDRF teams assisted in distribution of relief materials and distributed 46968 food pkts, 11945 water bottles and 487 packets medicines to needy, so far.

Yesterday, NDRF teams evacuated 680 flood victims and distributed 19800 food packets, 2560 water bottle and 487 packets medicines in various districts.

RAJASTHAN: More than 590 persons and 17 livestock have been evacuated and 2535 food packets have been distributed by NDRF in flood prone areas of Rajasthan, till now. Yesterday, NDRF teams evacuated 114 flood victims and distributed 225 food packets.

WEST BENGAL: 10 NDRF teams are operational in West Bengal. Yesterday, NDRF teams evacuated 99 flood affected people from Distt. North 24 Pargana, South 24 Pargana and Paschim Medinipur . So far 894 persons have been rescued by NDRF in West Bengal.

Assam : NDRF has evacuated more than 610 persons, retrieved 5 dead bodies and provide medical assistance to 30 persons in Assam till now.

NDRF HQ, New Delhi is monitoring the situation closely and is in touch with other agencies and stakeholders.
