FLOOD RESCUE AND EVACUATION OPERATIONS BY NDRF

NDRF teams are relentlessly helping the flood affected people in the flood affected States. In addition to flood rescue operations, NDRF teams are also responding to other eventualities viz. train accident, landslides and building collapse across the country.
Uttar Pradesh: Today, a special rescue operation was launched by NDRF in Siddarthnagar where due to breakage of embankment of Boori Rapti river submerged three village namely Satawari, Banjara and Dadia Bazar in Tehsil Naugarh and left several people marooned. NDRF team immediately launched rescue operation with the help of Air Force helicopter and rescued 84 .
Besides, NDRF responded to a train accident in Muzaffarnagar where 14 coaches of Puri-Haridwar Kalinga Utkal Express derailed in Muzaffarnagar’s Khatauli region in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday evening. On intimation, 04 teams of NDRF rushed to spot, carried out operations throughout the night. One team is still present on the spot.
In addition, 23 flood rescue teams of NDRF are continuously engaged in rescue & relief operations in various districts.Yesterday, NDRF rescued 3350 persons, provided medical assistance to 940 persons and also distributed relief materials to needy.
Bihar 28 National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams are engaged in rescuing the marooned people and providing medical assistance in flood affected areas. Teams are providing pre hospital treatment to needy people in far flung areas. NDRF teams are also sensitizing them about the water born disease and its remedial measures. Yesterday, over 3786 persons were evacuated and 2467 persons were provided medical assistance by NDRF. NDRF teams also assisted administration in distribution of relief materials.
West Bengal: 19 teams are operational. Yesterday, 515 persons were evacuated by NDRF from in worst flood affected areas of South Dinajpur, North Dinajpur and Malda districts and also distributed relief materials to flood victims.
Uttarakhand : Today, a small contingent of NDRF comprising of 07 personnel was airlifted from Dharchula to Village Malpa, Dharchula in Pithoragarh district to search the victims who got buried in a landslide. 04 NDRF teams have been pre-positioned in Uttarakhand.
NDRF HQ, New Delhi is monitoring the situation closely and in touch with other agencies and stakeholders.
