FLOOD RESCUE AND EVACUATION OPERATION BY NDRF
Dated 27th July, 2016 Time 1800 Hrs
42 flood rescue teams of NDRF has been pre-positioned in various flood prone area of country viz. Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Jammu & Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand and West Bengal to assist the respective state administration in rescue and relief work. NDRF teams are fully equipped with boats, divers and other flood rescue equipment
13 flood rescue teams are deployed in Assam to meet the challenges due to flood like situations. NDRF team evacuated 71 persons at Kokrajhar and 135 persons at Bongaigaon district.
09 flood rescue teams of NDRF are deployed at various flood prone areas of West Bengal. Team deployed at Alipurdwar, West Bengal, carried out rescue ops at Bakri, Ditchor in Alipurdwar and evacuated 37 marooned persons and distributed relief materials in the flood affected areas. Team deployed at Jalpaiguri provided medical aid to 135 villagers.
09 flood rescue team of NDRF are pre-positioned in Bihar in connection with monsoon session. NDRF team evacuated 60 persons at Supaul, 240 persons at Arraria and 486 at Kishanganj.
01 flood rescue team of NDRF is operational in Sidhharth nagar, U.P in connection with flash flood, team evacuated 280 marooned persons to safer places. Operation is in progress.
A 24X7, NDRF control room in Delhi is closely monitoring the situation and in touch with other agencies.
