FLOOD RESCUE AND EVACUATION OPERATION BY NDRF

Dated 03rd August, 2016 Time 1800 Hrs

The flood rescue and relief operation by National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) in flood prone areas is still continue. The teams of NDRF are relentlessly engaged to assist the respective state administration in rescue and relief work.

On 02 August 2016, NDRF teams deployed at Assam carried out rescue & evacuation operation and evacuated 16 marooned villagers at vill-Dababill under revenue circle Sidli, district–Charang and shifted them to safer places. NDRF team deployed at Distt-Valsad, Gujarat for flood rescue and relief operation evacuated 106 marooned persons to safer place who were stranded due to flood.

NDRF team deployed at Nasik rescued 16 person from village Karenje and further rescued 26 person from village Saikheda.

NDRF teams deployed in Assam, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh organised mobile medical camps at various flood affected areas. The teams provided medical attention to 365 persons at Muzzafarpur and Gopalganj (Bihar), 272 persons at Jorhat (Assam) and 250 persons at Varanasi (U.P). In addition, teams deployed at Distt-Balrampur, UP assisted local administration in distribution of 1000 nos food packet and 500 nos water pouch to the flood affected victims.

A 24X7, NDRF control room in New Delhi is closely monitoring the situation and in touch with other agencies.
