FLOOD: BRIEF (PRE-MONSOON AND SOUTH - WEST MONSOON-2023)

Dated 13/07/2023 Time: - 2130 Hrs.

Mostly 05 States viz. Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana Uttrakhand and Delhi have been facing flood situation for last few days.
In response to the situation, total 61 self-contained NDRF teams have been deployed in the affected States of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana Uttrakhand and Delhi for rescue and relief work after consultation with State administration.
16 teams of National Disaster Response Force have been deployed in the flood affected districts of Delhi in coordination with state and district Administration. So far, NDRF teams rescued 1349 stranded people and evacuated 2905 persons to safer places in Delhi.
Besides, NDRF teams are conducting rescue/evacuation from low lying areas in other states too. So far, more than 10,596 people and several cattle have been shifted to safer place and 1882 people have been rescued. Teams are also assisting the local authorities in distribution of relief material.
Currently situation is under control. Teams are carrying out recce of the low-lying areas.

Control room DG HQ NDRF is closely monitoring the situation and is in close coordination with concerned authorities/stakeholders.
