ANTI-TERRORISM DAY OBSERVED BY NDRF.

Dated 21st May, 2017 Time 1630 Hrs.

Anti-Terrorism day was observed BY NDRF at NDRF HQ and its all 12 Battalions. On this occasion a pledge taking ceremony was also held in which All NDRF officers, SOs and Jawans took a pledge against terrorism in the presence of DG, NDRF Shri R. K. Pachnanda.

Shri R. K. Pachnanda highlighted the significance of the day and said that it is important for the people to understand the menace that terror can create. we should work to safeguard the unity and integrity of the country and to work for communal harmony and peace.

All NDRF personnel pledged that they would oppose all forms of terrorism and violence and they would work to uphold and promote peace, communal harmony and understanding among all fellow human beings and to fight the forces of disruption threatening human lives & values.

Every year May 21 is observed as Anti-Terrorism Day with the objective to wean away the youth from terrorism and the cult of violence. On this day in 1991 that former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi died in a terrorist attack at Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu.
