40 TEAMS OF NDRF PREPOSITIONED IN THE COUNTRY

To meet any flood related eventuality, 40 NDRF teams have been pre-positioned at various flood-prone locations. All teams are equipped with boats, divers and other flood rescue related equipment and making best use of their professionalism and technology in the discharge of their mandate.

One team of NDRF conducted search and rescue operation in connection with a drowning case at Barzola, District-Jorhat in Assam. After a long search operation team retrieved dead body of the missing personfrom the canal.

In addition, oneteam is operational at Dhubri district, Assam to trace out the missing BSF Jawan Bipin Mishra, who drowned in flood water yesterday and another one is operational at Supaul Bihar to locate the drowned person.

A 24X7, NDRF control room in Delhi is closely monitoring the situation and in touch with other agencies to provide prompt response in any type of emergency.
