10 MORE NDRF TEAMS TO BE AIRLIFTED TO GUJARAT TODAY

The flood rescue and relief operation by NDRF in flood prone areas across the country is in full swing. The responders of NDRF are making all possible efforts to reach to the affected people in far flung areas of flood hit states. Out of total 69 flood rescue teams, 19 teams are operational in Gujarat and 03 more teams joined the rescue operation today.
To strengthen the rescue and relief operation in worst flood affected areas of Gujarat, 10 additional flood rescue teams of NDRF equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and other disaster response gadgets are being airlifted from various NDRF locations. 03 teams from NDRF base Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, 03 teams from NDRF base Mundali, Odisha and 04 teams from NDRF base Araokkonam, Tamilnadu are being airlifted. All these team are self-contained and shall be operational in worst flood affected areas of Gujarat.
Shri R. K Rana, Dy. Inspector General, NDRF is also present in Gujarat to supervise the ongoing rescue operation by NDRF.
NDRF HQ, New Delhi is monitoring the situation closely and is in touch with other agencies and stakeholders.
