06 MORE NDRF TEAMS RUSHED TO FLOOD AFFECTED AREAS OF BIHAR

NDRF teams are continuously engaged in rescue & relief operations with other agencies in various flood affected areas across the country.
Bihar : 23 flood and rescue teams of NDRF equipped with boats and other flood rescue equipment have been deployed at various flood affected areas of Bihar. NDRF teams have been deployed at Supaul (01 team), Kishanganj (05 Teams), Motihari (01 team), Betiah (02 Teams), Deedartganj (02 teams), Purnia (02 teams), Darbhanga (01 team), Muzaffarpur (01 team) , Araria (01 team), Raxaul (01 team). Today, 06 more teams which were airlifted from Bhuwneshwar, Odisha at 1042 hrs, reached Patna, at 1150 hrs and are being deployed at worst affected areas of Sitamari (03 teams), Gopalganj (01 team), Motihari (01 team) and Deedarjanj (01 team). In addition, some additional teams are on alert at NDRF base Patna. Yesterday, NDRF teams conducted rescue operations and evacuated 252 persons at Motihari, 425 persons & 47 livestock at Betiah and 427 persons at Kishanganj. The operations are in progress.
Assam : 18 flood and rescue teams of NDRF equipped with 60 boats and other flood response equipment have been deployed in Assam. 01 team each is deployed at Guwahati, Cachar, Biswanath, Barpeta, Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, Majul;I, Chirag, Dhubri, Morigaon, Nagaon, Dhimaji, Tinsukia, Jorhat, Sibsagar, Majuli and Dibrugarh. Yesterday, NDRF teams carried out rescue and evacuation operations and evacuated102 persons at Biswanath, 97 persons at Bongaigaon, 160 persons at Kokarajhar, 424 persons at Chirang, 165 persons at Morigaon and 61 persons at Nagaon districts. NDRF teams also assisted the local administration in distribution of relief material to needy persons. The rescue and relief work is still in progress.
Himachal Pradesh : 02 NDRF teams are relentlessly engaged to locate the victims trapped under the debris at Padhar area on the Mandi-Pathankot National Highway near Jogindernagar in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh where massive landslide occurred yesterday and trapped several persons. Till now, 48 bodies have been retrieved by various rescue agencies. Operation is still in progress.
Uttar Pradesh : 08 NDRF teams are deployed. Yesterday, NDRF team rescued 06 persons and evacuated 160 persons at Behraich, U.P and distributed 300 food packets. NDRF team deployed at Sharavasti evacuated 85 persons and distributed 1600 food packets.
Uttarakhand : 03 dead bodies have been retrieved by NDRF team at Village Madarma, Munsyari, Pithoragarh where a landslide incident took place yesterday.
NDRF HQ, New Delhi is closely monitoring the situation and is in touch with other agencies and stakeholders.
