04 MORE NDRF TEAMS AIRLIFTED TO BIHAR

Massive flood rescue and relief operations by NDRF in flood affected areas across the country continues. The NDRF responders are relentlessly engaged to rescue the marooned people from the flood affected areas and leaving no stone unturned to reach every household.

Bihar:- 27 flood rescue teams of NDRF have been engaged to carry out rescue and relief work in flood affected areas of Bihar. To gear up the rescue operations, 04 teams have been airlifted from Bhatinda, Punjab to Patna, Bihar for further deployment.

Yesterday, NDRF teams carried out rescue operation at various flood affected areas and evacuated 186 persons at Darbhanga, 1456 persons at Muzzafarpur, 795 persons at Motihari, 475 persons at Madhubani, 653 persons at Katihar, 67 persons at Sitamarhi, 618 persons at Supaul, 496 persons at Kishanganj, rescued 01 person and evacuated 1664 persons at Purnia, rescued 02 and evacuated 405 at Bettiah. Besides, NDRF teams are also assisting in the administration in distribution of relief materials to flood victims. The operations are in progress.

Assam:- 18 flood rescue teams of NDRF are engaged in rescue and relief work.Yesterday, NDRF teams evacuated 193 persons at Bongaigaon, 287 persons at Kokrajhar and 416 persons at Morigaon. The operations is in progress.

Uttar Pradesh:- 16 flood rescue teams of NDRF are carrying out rescue and relief work. Yesterday, NDRF teams evacuated 478 persons at Sharavasti, 273 persons at Behraich, 576 persons at Balrampur, 365 persons at Maharajganj, 552 persons at Gonda and 156 persons at Lakhimpur. Besides, NDRF teams also assisted in distribution of relief material and distributed 8500 water pouches at Sharavasti, 7250 food packets at Bahraich, 4600 food packets at Balrampur, 2300 food packets at Gonda and 1000 food packets at Kusinagar. NDRF teams at Maharajganj provided medical assistance to 35 persons.

Himachal Pradesh : 02 teams are deployed. Yesterday, NDRF team rescued one person who got trapped under a bolder along with his JCB. NDRF team conducted a special rescue operation and saved him.

Andhra Pradesh : Yesterday, in the evening, a two year old child namely Chandra Shekhar fell down into a 200 feet deep bore well and got stucked at a depth of about 20 feet at Vill- Ummadivaram, Mandal & P.S. Vinukonda, Distt. Guntur, (AP).

On intimation, two teams of NDRF immediately rushed to incident site from NDRF base Vijaywada and commenced rescue operations with the help of bore well rescue equipment. In a précised rescue operations which lasted for 7 hours in the night, NDRF teams safely rescued the child from bore well today in wee hours.

A 24X7, NDRF control room in Delhi is closely monitoring the situation and in touch with other agencies.
