WORLD CULTURAL FESTIVAL |
On requisition of Major General S P Singh, Security head, Art of Living was organized World Cultural Festival on the banks of Yamuna River, Delhi w.e.f. on 11th March, 2016 to 13th March, 2016. 07 teams of 08 Bn NDRF, Ghaziabad, UP comprising GOs-08, SOs-22 Ors-227 Total- 257 pers along with 12 boats, Water rescue related equipment and CBRN equipment were deployed at DDA Vacant Ground, Yamuna Bank, New Delhi on 11.03.2016, 12.03.2016 & 13.03.2016 in c/w World Cultural Festival for emergency response. During the deployment NDRF Medical team provided medical treatment to 185 persons at venue site. |

THIONYL CHLORIDE TRUCK INCIDENT |
On 08.03.2016 at about 2130 hrs an information received from District Administration, Banglore, Karnataka that a truck carrying Thionyl Chloride met with an accident and turned turtle on Mysore road Chengeri check post Distt- Bangalore. Accordingly one CBRN team of NDRF along with CBRN equipment mobilized for the incident site at 1740 hrs and reached at 2000 hrs. Team inspected and analysed the incident site with all precautionary measures by utilizing all their skills and technique to neutralize the hazardous liquid. The tanker got completely damaged and leaked. CBRN team with the help of Police, Fire Service and civil authority covered the spill over liquid with sand/soil. However, due to continuous discharge of liquid the smell was spread in about 200 mtrs of the surrounding area. Traffic movement the area was halted to avoid any contamination from harmful liquid. Completely liquid discharged from the leakage tanker without any affect to the public. |

CHENNAI FLOOD |
Due to incessant rain from 1st December 2015 at Chennai and around, a disastrous flood situation was aroused in Tamilnadu & Puducherry. First time in the history of DM Operations, 50 teams of NDRF were deployed in a State of the country for rescue and relief operation. NDRF Teams evacuated 22450 flood affected persons to safer places and distributed 2, 41,904 Food Packets, 2, 10,372 water pouches & 56,965 Clothes/Blankets, 46 Boxes Medicine, & other relief items. |

Nepal Earthquake |
On 25thApril 2015, Nepal faced the worst disaster in the form of Earthquake of magnitude 7.8, resulting into massive loss of lives and infrastructure. The tremors were also felt in Northern India and raised the fear of a humanitarian disaster across the Himalayan nation. On the direction of the Government of India, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) deployed its 16 USAR teams comprising of more than 700 rescuers along with 18 dogs trained in USAR operation with latest gadgets at various earthquake hit areas of Nepal viz. Goodbal, Tanu Hospital, Balajutra, Balkhu, Kopan, Vasundranamunatol, Gangabhu, Maharganj, Brijeshwari, Shobha Bhagawati Bridge, KV Army area, Tilganga,Sundra, K.V. School near Embassy, White Gumba, Stungal, Gongbhu, PM residence area, Balaju, Balaju bypass & Kathmandu to assist the Nepalese Authority in “Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief” (HADR) work. Team conducted SAR ops w.e.f. 25thApril,2015 to 4th May,2015. Under the able leadership of Sh. O.P Singh, DG, NDRF who personally supervised the operation, NDRF rescued 11 injured persons and retrieved 133 dead bodies from under the rubble of debris, organized medical camps and attended. Besides, NDRF also assisted MHA and NDMA to dispatch 1176.571 tonnes of relief materials donated by various agencies to quake affected peoples of Nepal via rail/ road route. (ii) Bihar & Uttar Pradesh (India) :The Nepal earthquake also affected northern part of India, resulting in collapse of building and communication setup. After getting direction from MHA, NDRF mobilized its 04 teams on 25.04.2015 to Supaul, Motihari, Darhbanga & Gopalganj in Bihar & 01 team at Gorakhpur in UP . Further on 26.04.2015 team deployed at Motihari was further diverted to Raxaul (Bihar). Teams deployed in Bihar conducted rescue operation and shifted 180 patients from damaged building/ wards to safe building in Darbhanga Medical College and Hospitals. Team deployed at Raxual, East Champaran helped State Govt. in shifting of 409 persons coming from Nepal to Relief Centre at Hajarimal High School, Raxual. |

Gujarat Flood |
17 teams of NDRF comprising approx 600 rescuers were mobilized on 28.07.2015 in connection with flood like situation in various parts of Gujarat. Teams were deployed at Suigam, Deesa Harara, Thered, Bhabhar, Deodhar, Dhanera & Palanpur in district Banaskantha and Patan. Teams conducted rescue and relief operation under the supervision of Sh. R.K. Rana, Dy. Inspector General. During the operation NDRF rescued 1430 maroonedperson to safer places,recovered 04 dead bodies, distributed 06 qtl relief material and 1,27,898 water & food packets and medicines to 445 persons teams. On 02.08.2015, teams of NDRF recovered 200 gram Gold, 05Kg Silver & cash of ? 02 lakh. Teams also assisted local administration indisposing of dead bodies of 268 animals. |

Rajasthan Flood |
08 teams of NDRF comprising 296 rescuers were mobilized w.e.f. 28.07.2015 and deployed at Jhalawar, Jalor, Kota, Jaipur, Udaipur, Pali, Sirohi & Barmer in Rajasthan. During the flood rescue operation NDRF rescued 238 marooned persons to safer places, retrieved 05 dead bodies distributed 17 qtl relief material, 20 tarpaulin, 2435 water & food packets and distributed medicines to 432 persons. |

Assam Flood |
During Monsoon 2015, 07 teams of NDRF were deployed at various flood prone districts including Lakhimpur, Barpeta, Tinsukia and Nagaon district to tackle flood like situation in Assam. The teams carried out various rescue operations and evacuated 2791 persons and 104 livestock to safer places and assisted state authorities in distributing 162 Qtls of relief material. |

West Bengal Flood |
During Monsoon 2015,one team deployed for relief and rescue operation w.e.f. 02/07/2015 to 03/07/2015 at Distt-Darjeeling, WB in connection with flood like situation due to increasing of water level of river Teesta . During rescue and relief operation team evacuated 115 persons to safer place from Vill- Dharampur & Vill-Motia Char, Distt-Jalpaiguri. |

Bilaspur (HP) Incident |
Two teams of NDRF were deployed in connection with trapping of 03 labours trapped in a partially collapsed under-construction tunnel at Tehra, Bilaspur (HP). Under the stewardship of Sh. Jaydeep Singh, Commandant, on 21 st Sept, 2015 SI. Naresh Pal and Constable Ashok Kumar rescued two workers Sh. Satish Tomar and Sh. Mani Ram who were trapped in under construction tunnel for more than 9 days. This successful Search & Rescue operation which was full of challenges brought laurels to the NDRF. |

Amarnath Yatra |
04 teams consisting of 165 rescuers along with MFR,/CSSR equipment were deployed at Pahalgam, Chandanwadi, Sheshnag, Baltal & Panchtarini (J&K) w.e.f. 16.05.2015 to 31.08.2015 for Shri Amarnath Yatra 2015 . Before deployment teams participated in table top/ mock exercise at Ganderbal and Anantnag . During the deployment teams conducted SAR ops in connection with flood rescue in area of Teh-Bijbehara, Distt-Anantnag and evacuated 96 persons to safer place. |

Borewell Incident |
Tamilnadu : On 12.04.2015, on requisition of local administration, one team conducted rescue operation at Kooranbadi, Distt-Vellore in connection with falling of one child (03Yrs) in a borewell and retrieved the child in unconscious condition in a joint ops with Fire Department/Local authorities and shifted to hospital for further treatment. Rajasthan: On 27.06.2015 , one team conducted rescue operation at Ajitgarh, Distt-Sikar, Raj in connection with falling of a child in a bore well. On 28.06.2015 team evacuated the child and on 04.10.2015 one team conducted rescue operation in connection with falling of a girl child in bore well at village- Biharipura, Tehsil- Laisot, Distt- Dausa and rescued the girl child . Maharashtra: On 05.08.2015, on requisition of local administration reg. falling of child into a borewell at Mall Seva, Naigaon, Tehsil- Purander, Distt -Pune 01 team conducted rescue operation and saved life of the victim. |

Uttar Pradesh : On requisition of district administration regarding a boat capsize incident & missing of 03 persons in river Dhela at Teh- Thakurdwara, Distt-Moradabad (UP), one team conducted search operation w.e.f. 06.07.2015 to 07.07.2015 and retrieved 02 dead bodies . Manipur : On 01.08.2015, on requisition of Secretary(R&DM),Govt of Manipur regarding a landslide incident at village Loumol, Distt- Chandel, Manipur and missing of 20 villagers one team along with 02 dogs was airlifted from Guwahati airbase to Imphal airbase and further airlifted to Joupaiaibol helipad, Distt- Chandel for search and rescue operation.One more team mobilized for incident site by road. Intensive search operation was carried out for the missing persons by NDRF and team retrieved 04 dead bodies on 02.08.2015. Maharashtra : On 22.06.2015, on requisition of DC ,Distt- Ratnagiri (MH) regarding a landslide incident at Vill- Dapoli, Distt- Ratnagiri & trapping of four persons in the debris, one team conducted search and rescue operation (SAR) and retrieved 04 dead bodies (02 Male & 02 Female). West Bengal : Two teams conducted search and rescue operation w.e.f 01.07.2015 to 17.07.2015 at Limbu Basti, Mirik, Distt-Darjeeling in connection with land slide incident . During deployment teams retrieved 02 dead bodies . Assam : On 01.09.2015, on requisition of DC Kamrup (R), one team conducted search and rescue operation at Gauripur, Distt- Kamrup (R), Assam in connection with landslide incident and recovered 02 dead bodies. |

J&K : On 15.07.2015 team deployed for Amarnath Yatra evacuated 12 pilgrims when two wooden bridge built on a river near Panchtarani broke down due to cloud burst. |

Karnataka : On 13/02/2015 two teams of 04 Bn NDRF conducted search and rescue operation at Budigere, Tehsil-Anekal, Distt-Bangaluru in connection with de-railment of 09 boggies of Bangluru-Ernakulam Express and recovered 04 dead bodies from the damaged compartment. Madhya Pradesh : On 05.08.2015, one team conducted search and rescue operation at Khirkiya, Distt- Harda (MP) in connection with derailment of few bogies of Kamayani Express & Janta Express and retrieved 05 dead bodies . |

Uttar Pradesh : On 15.02.2015, on requisition of DM Chanduali one team conducted search and rescue operation at Vill-Dulhipur, Distt- Chanduali in connection with collapse of an under construction Building; and retrieved 11 dead bodies . Delhi: On 03.07.2015 one team deployed in connection with collapse of the wall of a under construction building at Dwarka Sector-6 Delhi and retrieved 01 dead body and two teams conducted search and rescue operation under the supervision of Commandant 08 Bn NDRF w.e.f. 18.07.2015 to 19.07. 2015 at Vishnu Garden, PS- Khyala, West Delhi in connection with a four stories building collapse. During the operation teams recovered 03 dead bodies. Maharashtra : On 04.08.2015, on requisition of DDMO Distt-Thane regarding collapse of a three storey building at Nava Para, Thane & trapping of few persons team conducted SAR operation and rescued 07 live victims & retrieved 12 dead bodies. |

CBRN Deployment at VA & VP |
Delhi : One team NDRF is deployed on regular basis around the Parliament House for providing response in case of any Nuclear, Chemical, Biological and Radiological emergency during Parliament Sessions. On the occasion of Independence Day -2015 and Republic Day 2016 two teams alongwith HAZMAT Vehicle & CBRN equipment deployed at Red Fort & Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi to provide CBRN cover. |

CBRN Deployment |
Delhi: On 29.05.2015 CBRN teams along with necessary radiological equipment deployed at IGI Airport, New Delhi in connection with suspected leakage of radioactive material. Under the supervision of DIG (Operation) NDRF and Commandant, 08 Bn t eam carried out detail monitoring and detection of suspected leakage with the help of detection equipment taking all precautionary measures. Other agencies such as AERB, ERC, INMAS, DAE and Delhi Fire Brigade also participated in the detection. At last, it was found that there was no Radioactive leakage in any of 10 packets of I-131 and M-90. These packets were removed by the team and handed over to Cargo Authorities. Maharashtra: On 16.08.2015 on requisition of BMC regarding gas leakage incident in a pharmaceutical company near Mithal industry at Andheri Kurlaroad, Kakinaka, Sagbag, Mumbai one CBRN team carried out operation and rescued one person and handed over chemical powder to BMC for further investigation . Punjab : On 13.06.2015, on requisition of DM, Distt- Ludhiana regarding leakage of ammonia gas from a tanker at Doraha, Distt- Ludhiana on Ludhiana-Delhi highway three teams of were deployed under the supervision of Dy. Inspector General Sh. R K Rana and Commandant 07Bn . The damaged tanker was shifted 04 kms away from the incident site in order to reduce its effect on the habitation. As the situation became normal all teams were de-inducted. |

Two teams deployed at Pampa & Sannidhanam, Distt-Pathanam Thitla (Kerala) in c/w Sabarimala Mela for emergency response w.e.f. 13.11.2014 to 19.01.2015. Teams gave, Pre Hospital Treatment (PHT) to 568 victims in Sannidhanam & Pumba. |
