UTTAR PRADESH: On 12.10.2019, a boat carrying approx. 18 people, which was ferrying villagers from Chhaprapuri village to their agriculture land got capsized in Ghaghara River, Snat Kabir Nagar, Uttar Pradesh. 14 people managed to reach to the river bank themselves however, 04 people were missing in the river. On requisition of district authority, one team of NDRF along with water related rescue equipment was mobilized for Vill- Chhaprapuri, Teh- Dhanghata, Distt-Sant Kabir Nagar (UP) and conducted Search and Rescue operations w.e.f. 12.10.2019 to 14.10.2019 and retrieved 03 dead bodies.
WEST BENGAL: On 03.10.2019, a boat carrying approx. 35-40 passengers ferrying from Katihar (Bihar) to Malda (WB) got capsized in Mahananda River. Approx. 30-32 people managed to reach to the river bank themselves and some persons were reported to be missing. As per the requisition of State Government, three teams of NDRF along with water rescue related equipment were mobilized to Jagannathpur Ghat of Mahanandapur Gram Panchayat of Chanchal town, Distt- Malda, West Bengal. NDRF teams along with other agencies conducted intensive search operation from 03.10.2019 to 06.10.2019 and retrieved 09 dead bodies (NDRF 06 and other agencies-03).
ANDHRA PRADESH: On 15.09.2019, a boat namely “Royal Vashishta tourist boat” carrying 77 passengers ferrying from Gandi Pochamma temple near Rajahmundry to Papikondalu hill range, got capsized in Godavari River at Kachuluru, Devipatnam, Distt. East Godavari, Andhra Pradesh in which 26 people managed to reach to the river bank themselves. With the requisition of State Government, two teams of NDRF along with water related rescue equipment conducted Joint operation w.e.f. 15.09.2019 to 04.10.2019 at village Kachuluru, Devipatnam, Distt.-East Godavari, Andhra Pradesh. During the operation NDRF teams along with other agencies retrieved 36 dead bodies (NDRF-19 and Other agencies-17).
