Rescue Operation – Maha Kumbh Mela 2025

A total of 20 NDRF Rescue Teams were deployed at Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, and 03 NDRF Rescue Teams were kept in reserve at District Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, for the smooth and safe conduct of Maha Kumbh Mela-2025.
During the event, NDRF teams carried out continuous Search and Rescue (SAR) operations, crowd safety monitoring, patrolling, and emergency response preparedness. Through prompt action and coordinated efforts, the teams successfully rescued 62 persons, evacuated 77 persons, and retrieved 08 deceased bodies. Additionally, NDRF personnel provided Pre-Hospital Treatment (PHT) to 57 persons and extended medical consultation and medicine distribution to 2,944 persons during the course of the event.
