PROMPT RESPONSE OF NDRF SAVED ONE PERSON IN VARANASI, UTTAR PRADESH

Date 24/10/2018 Time: 1500 Hrs

Today, a cylinder blast led to the collapse of a house at Lahartara area in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh and trapped few persons inside the debris. On intimation, a team of NDRF immediately rushed to the spot from its nearest base at Varanasi, started rescue operation and rescued one male victim from the debris.

One more team was also mobilized to strengthen the on-going rescue operations. As one more victim is suspected to be trapped under the debris, through search is being carried out by NDRF team with the help of canine. The operation is still in progress.

A 24x7, NDRF control room in Delhi is closely monitoring the situation round the clock.
