Continuous downpour in Krishna & West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh since Saturday morning raised water level in many water bodies.

2. Today, several devotees got struck at Gubbala Mangamma temple in Buttayagudem of West Godavari district when there was a flash flood in the stream passing by the temple. On being intimated, a team of NDRF immediately rushed to the spot from its pre-positioning location at West Godavari, commenced rescue operation and safely evacuated 610 persons including children & elderly.

3. In view of monsoon season, NDRF has pre-positioned its 04 teams in vulnerable districts of Andhra Pradesh viz. East Godavari, West Godavari and Vishakhapatnam. Pre-positing deployment of NDRF teams had saved many precious lives across the country.
