CYCLONE TITLI : 23 NDRF TEAMS DEPLOYED IN ODISHA, ANDHRA PRADESH AND WEST BENGAL

In view of 'very severe cyclonic storm Titli', NDRF has deployed its 23 self-contained team in the coastal areas of Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal. All NDRF teams are fully equipped with various types of cutting, flood rescue equipment, V-SAT & Satellite communication equipment to undertake post cyclone restoration and relief operations.

ODISHA:- 14 NDRF teams are deployed at the coastal regions of Odisha viz. Ganjam, Gajapati, Puri, Kendrapada, Nayagarh, Bhadrak, Jagatsingjpur, Balasore, Jajpur and Sambalpur. 04 additional teams are kept on standby at NDRF base Mundali and shall be mobilized as per demand.

ANDHRA PRADESH:- 06 NDRF teams are deployed in Vishakhapatnam, Srikakulam and Vijaynagaram districts. NDRF team deployed at Srikakulam is engaged in cutting/removal of uprooted trees and clearing the road.

09 additional teams are kept on standby at NDRF base Vijaywada.

WEST BENGAL:- 03 NDRF teams are deployed in likely cyclone affected districts i.e East Medinipur, Hoogly and 24 South Pargana. 08 additional teams are kept on standby at NDRF base Haringhata.

Additional teams are kept as reserve at NDRF battalion Patna and Varanashi.

A 24x7, NDRF control room in Delhi is closely monitoring the situation round the clock and is in touch with state administration.
